Dornbirn, Austria – TridonicAtco, part of the Zumtobel Group and a manufacturer of control gear, lighting systems and LED modules, is expanding production capacity for electronic ballasts at its Färbergasse facility in Dornbirn. By the spring of 2012, additional SMT* equipment will be installed in the automated mounting area.

Fürstenfeld/Jennersdorf, Austria; March 12, 2010 – TridonicAtco Fürstenfeld and LEDON Lighting Jennersdorf, both subsidiaries of the Austrian lighting company Zumtobel Group, are to step up their collaboration. The aim of the envisaged joint activities is to drive forward the Group’s incipient mass market business with innovative LEDs. To help realise the planned growth, the two companies – the magnetic lighting components factory in Fürstenfeld and the development specialist for innovative LED light sources – are to be placed under joint management.

3 February 2010 – An international group of companies from the lighting industry – including Acuity Brands Lighting, Cooper Lighting, OSRAM, Panasonic, Philips, Schréder, Toshiba, TRILUX and Zumtobel Group – is to initiate the formation of Zhaga, an industry-wide cooperation aimed at the development of standard specifications for the interfaces of LED light engines.

The corridorFUNCTION is an innovative feature of the PCA Excel one4all and PCA Eco lp digital dimmable ballasts from TridonicAtco GmbH & Co. KG, Dornbirn/Austria. It offers considerable potential for energy savings. This applies above all for lighting solutions where safety standards dictate that the lights have to be on round the clock at different brightness levels depending on the time of day. Examples of places where constant lighting is needed include corridors in hotels that have to have an illuminance of 100 lx by day according to European standard DIN EN 12464-1 and a lower level by night. Similarly, corridors in health facilities such as hospitals have to have an illuminance of 200 lx by day and 50 lx by night.

At the inaugural DALI Award ceremony on February 6, 2007, TridonicAtco GmbH & Co. KG of Dornbirn/Austria had two reasons to celebrate. Firstly, the winDIM@net system solution in the 194 metre high Rondo 1 tower in Warsaw was selected for the “Sub Award 1”. Secondly, digital dimmable PCA EXCEL one4all ballasts form the basis of the DALI solution in the winning “Deutsche Telekom Laboratories” project.
